Achievers University has intensified its digital transformation efforts with an intensive staff training programme on Google Workspace for Education, reinforcing its commitment to technology-driven teaching and administrative excellence under its strategic collaboration with iWorld Networks.
The capacity-building workshop brought together academic and administrative staff across faculties and units to strengthen proficiency in Google’s collaborative cloud tools, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Classroom, Gemini, Notebook LM, Keep, Calendar among others. The sessions were structured to enhance operational efficiency while equipping lecturers with practical skills for integrating digital tools into classroom delivery.
The initiative forms part of the phased implementation of Google for Education solutions at the University. Through its partnership with iWorld Networks, Achievers University has successfully migrated its institutional email system to Google Workspace, establishing a secure and unified digital communication framework for staff and students.
Speaking on the development, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyesoji Aremu, described the training as a significant milestone in the University’s technological advancement.
“Technology is no longer optional in higher education; it is foundational. By equipping our staff with modern digital tools, we are enhancing the quality, flexibility and reach of our teaching. Our students will benefit from more interactive classrooms, seamless access to learning materials and stronger academic engagement,” he stated.
With the training completed, staff members are expected to deploy Google Workspace tools in their teaching, supervision and student engagement processes. This includes hosting virtual and hybrid lectures via Google Meet, organising coursework and feedback through Google Classroom, enabling real-time collaborative assignments using Docs and Sheets, and maintaining structured academic calendars and communication channels.
The anticipated impact on students is significant. The integration of Google Workspace is set to improve access to course materials, foster collaborative learning, enhance timely feedback mechanisms and support blended learning models. It also strengthens digital literacy among students, preparing them for technology-driven workplaces beyond graduation.
As global higher education increasingly embraces digital ecosystems, Achievers University continues to position itself as a forward-looking institution committed to innovation. By aligning infrastructure development with human capacity building, the University is not only modernising its internal operations but also transforming the learning experience it delivers to its students.
