Achievers University warmly celebrates an exceptional scholar, visionary administrator, and distinguished mentor, Professor Oyesoji Aremu, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, on the joyous occasion of his birthday.
Professor Aremu is a renowned Professor of Counselling and Criminal Justice with over two decades of impactful experience in teaching, research, and higher education leadership. He built a strong academic foundation and rose to prominence as a respected authority in counselling psychology and human development.
An accomplished scholar of international repute, Professor Aremu has made significant contributions to knowledge through his extensive research in behavioural studies, criminal justice, psychological assessment, and therapeutic interventions. With over 170 scholarly publications in reputable local and international outlets, his works continue to shape discourse on crime prevention, ethics, and societal development. His global exposure includes serving as a Commonwealth Fellow at the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom, further deepening his expertise in criminology and justice systems.
Over the years, he has held several strategic academic and administrative positions, including serving as Director of the Distance Learning Centre, University of Ibadan, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership in expanding access to quality education. His contributions to educational policy and development have earned him wide recognition within and beyond Nigeria.
At Achievers University, Professor Aremu serves in the Department of Educational Foundations and Counselling, where he continues to inspire scholarship, mentor future leaders, and advance research that addresses contemporary societal challenges. Since his appointment as Acting Vice-Chancellor, his leadership has been marked by clarity of vision, commitment to excellence, and a strong drive toward institutional growth and global relevance.
