The University’s campus came alive with energy and anticipation as hundreds of newly admitted students participated in a comprehensive five-day orientation programme held from 13th – 17th October, 2025. The event, organized by the Student Affairs Division of the University, was a pivotal moment in the academic journey of the 2025/2026 fresh students.
Held at the iconic Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Auditorium, the orientation was designed to ease the transition of fresh students into university life, equipping them with the knowledge, values and support systems essential for success.
Throughout the week, students engaged in a series of University-wide and cultural briefings, interactive sessions, campus tours. The programme featured contributions from faculty, administrative leaders, and external agencies, all aimed at fostering a sense of belonging and academic readiness.
A standout moment came on Thursday, 16th October, 2025 when representatives from the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Ondo State branch, engaged the students on civic responsibility, national values, and youth engagement. Their message resonated deeply with the students, emphasizing the role of education in shaping responsible citizens and future leaders.
The orientation was concluded on Friday, 17th October, 2025 with a special welcome session by the Management led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyesoji Aremu. In his address, Professor Aremu urged the new students to embrace the opportunities before them and commit to excellence in character and scholarship.
“This university is not just a place to earn a degree—it is a community where you will discover your purpose, build lifelong relationships, and contribute meaningfully to society. Make your stay count,” he charged, drawing applause from the packed auditorium.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor also reiterated the institution’s commitment to student welfare, innovation, and academic integrity, assuring the fresh cohort of a supportive environment that nurtures growth.
As the orientation programme concluded, students expressed excitement and gratitude for the warm welcome and wealth of information received. With classes set to begin, the University community looks forward to seeing this new generation of scholars thrive.
