ACHIEVERS UNIVERSITY’S NURSING INFRASTRUCTURE IS OUTSTANDING – AL-HIKMAH VARSITY’S REP

Achievers University remains a trailblazer in Nigeria’s nursing education landscape, continually setting benchmarks that inspire other institutions seeking to enhance their teaching facilities. On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the Vice-Chancellor of Achievers University, Professor Omolola Irinoye, warmly welcomed a three-man team from Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, on an exploratory visit to the University’s Faculty of Nursing Science. The visit aimed to understudy Achievers University’s world-class nursing education infrastructure as Al-Hikmah University plans to upgrade its facilities.

The visiting team, including a lecturer in the Faculty of Nursing, Dr. Opeyemi Ibrahim; the Physical Planning Officer, Arc. Olushola Habeeb, and Arc. Damilola Ogunbiyi, a consultant architect, was highly impressed by the quality and comprehensiveness of the facilities at Achievers University. Professor Irinoye, a distinguished professor of Nursing and prominent advocate for the advancement of nursing education in Nigeria, expressed delight over the visit. She reiterated Achievers University’s unwavering commitment to excellence in nursing education through state-of-the-art infrastructure, cutting-edge teaching methodologies, and an industry-driven curriculum.

In her remarks, Professor Irinoye emphasized that the University’s rich investment in nursing education aligns with its broader vision of strengthening the nation’s healthcare sector by producing highly skilled and competent nursing professionals. She highlighted Achievers University’s dedication to providing substantial resources that meet and exceed the minimum benchmark required for nursing education in Nigeria. She also reaffirmed the university’s openness to collaboration with other institutions, underscoring the need for knowledge-sharing initiatives, research partnerships, and infrastructural development to enhance nursing education nationwide. She further used the opportunity to encourage individuals seeking to advance their studies to consider the University’s postgraduate Nursing programme, emphasizing its flexibility and timeliness.

The delegation had a comprehensive tour of the Faculty of Nursing Science, where they explored the University’s cutting-edge infrastructure. This includes the Clinical Simulation Laboratory, fully equipped demonstration rooms, modern classrooms tailored to provide hands-on training, and a well-stocked Faculty of Nursing library, amongst others. The team also had engaging interactions with faculty members, gaining valuable insights into the University’s innovative approach to nursing education.

Speaking on behalf of Al-Hikmah University, Dr. Ibrahim commended Achievers University for its remarkable strides in nursing education. He described the visit as both insightful and inspiring, acknowledging the institution’s impressive commitment to excellence. “We have seen firsthand the dedication of Achievers University to providing world-class nursing education. The quality of infrastructure and training facilities here is outstanding, and we look forward to adopting these best practices in our institution,” he stated.
