Law Librarian

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Professor

The candidate must possess Ph.D. in the relevant subject areas with at least twelve (12) years of teaching, research, community service and professional experience in a university or any other tertiary research-oriented institution. He/She must have a record of substantial publications in local and international journals, evidence of postgraduate supervision, and ability to initiate and develop research. The candidate must be willing to initiate and develop courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and must be able to supervise postgraduate students in his/her area of discipline. In addition, candidate must demonstrate evidence of academic leadership, evidence of teamwork as well as administrative experience in working with interdisciplinary groups. Registration with professional body where applicable is compulsory.

  1.      Reader (Associate Professor)

The candidate must possess Ph.D. in the relevant subject areas with at least ten (10) years of teaching, research, community service and professional experience in a university or any other tertiary institution. He/She must have a record of substantial publications, with focus on distinct areas of research, in local and international journals; evidence of postgraduate supervision; and ability to initiate and develop research. The candidate must be willing to initiate and develop courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and must be able to supervise postgraduate students in his/her area of discipline. In addition, candidate must possess a good measure of academic leadership, evidence of teamwork as well as administrative experience in working with interdisciplinary groups. Registration with professional body where applicable is compulsory.

  1. Senior Lecturer

Candidate must possess Ph.D. in the relevant subject areas with a minimum of five (5) years of teaching, research, community service and professional experience in a university or any other tertiary research-oriented institution. He/She must have a record of substantial publications with distinctive academic quality, originality and contribution to knowledge in a focused area of research and in reputable local and international journals. The candidate must be able to teach courses as well as supervise students’ projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Registration with professional body where applicable is compulsory.

  1. Lecturer I

Candidate must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant subject area with at least three (3) years post-qualification experience in teaching, research as well as a good number of publications with outstanding academic quality, originality and contribution to knowledge in an emerging area of interest in local and international journals. Holders of a good master’s degree with evidence of registration for Ph.D. and progress report as well as a substantial number of publications and teaching experience can also apply. Registration with professional body where applicable is compulsory.

  •  Lecturer II

Candidate must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant subject area. Holders of good master’s degree with evidence of registration for Ph.D. and progress report as well as a substantial number of publications, and teaching and research experience may be considered. For the professional programmes such as Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science and Law, good master’s degree holders are eligible to apply. 

  • Librarian II (Law Librarian)

Candidate must possess either LL.B. with at least a Diploma in Library Studies/Library and Information Management or Master of Library and Information Science with at least a Diploma in Law. Work experience in a Law Library will be an added advantage.

NON-TEACHING POSITIONS

1. Deputy Registrar

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree plus at least fifteen (15) years’ post-qualification experience, eight (8) of which must be in the administration of higher education OR a master’s degree plus at least twelve (12) years’ relevant post-qualification experience. 

2. Principal Assistant Registrar

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree plus at least ten (10) years’ post-qualification experience, six (6) of which must be in the administration of higher education OR a master’s degree plus at least nine (9) years’ relevant post-qualification experience. 

3. Senior Assistant Registrar

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree plus at least eight (8) years’ post-qualification experience, four (4) of which must be in the administration of higher education OR a master’s degree plus at least six (6) years’ post-qualification experience, three (3) of which must be in the administration of higher education. 

4. Assistant Registrar

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree plus at least six (6) years’ post-qualification experience, three (3) of which must be in the administration of higher education OR a master’s degree plus at least four (4) years relevant post-qualification experience. 

5. Assistant Chief Accountant

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus ten (10) years’ relevant post-qualification experience OR a bachelor’s degree plus master’s/membership of ACA, ACCA, ACMA or their equivalent with seven (7) years’ relevant post-qualification experience.

6. Principal Accountant

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus eight (8) years’ relevant post-qualification experience OR a bachelor’s degree plus master’s/membership of ACA, ACCA, ACMA or their equivalent with six (6) years’ relevant post-qualification experience.

7. Senior Accountant

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus six (6) years’ relevant post-qualification experience OR a bachelor’s degree plus master’s/membership of ACA, ACCA, ACMA or their equivalent with three (3) years’ relevant post-qualification experience.

8. Accountant I          

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with three (3) years’ post-qualification experience OR a bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus master’s/membership of ACA, ACCA, ACMA or their equivalent.

9. Accountant II

Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

10. Head of Corporate Affairs Unit/Public Relations Officer

Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication or humanities with at least nine years’ post-qualification experience in print, electronic and practical public relations. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in the use of the social media and event management. Membership of NIPR or its equivalent is also a key requirement for this job. .

11. Corporate Affairs Officer I (Protocol and Event Management)

Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication or humanities with three years’ post-qualification experience in protocol and event management. Membership of NIPR will be an added advantage.

12. Corporate Affairs Officer I (Creative and Audio-Visual Communication)

Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication or humanities with three years’ post-qualification experience in creative and audio-visual communication. 

13. Corporate Affairs Officer I (Editorial and Publications)

Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication or humanities with three years’ post-qualification experience in print and new/social media. Membership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists is required.

14. Personal Assistant

Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree. He/she must have demonstrable communication, inter-personal, time management and strong organizational, ICT and social media skills as well as ability to multitask and pay attention to detail. Related experience in a higher institution will be an added advantage.    

15. Webmaster

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information and Communication Technology, with at least two (2) years’ experience in a related position, possibly in a higher institution. He/She should have analytical mind, detailed understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC), outstanding problem-solving skill, and fantastic content creation/management and writing skills.  Knowledge of programming language and scripting language will be an added advantage.

16. Senior Technologist (Production/Manufacturing Engineering Option)

Candidate must possess the Higher National Diploma (minimum of Upper Credit) with at least six (6) years’ experience in manufacturing, machining and fabrication.

17. Technologist I (Biomedical and Mechatronic Engineering

Candidate must possess the Higher National Diploma (minimum of Upper Credit) with at least three (3) years’ experience in Biomedical or Mechatronic Engineering. 

18. Technical Assistant (Welding and Fabrication)

 Candidate must possess the Federal Crafts Training Certificate/Trade Test Certificate with at least four (4) years’ experience in wielding and fabrication.

19.  Technologist II (Agronomist)

Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Crop Science or any related discipline.

20. French Teachers (for Achievers Primary and Secondary Schools in Owo and Ibadan respectively)

Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in French.

SALARIES AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Salaries, allowances and other benefits, including contributory pension scheme, are as approved by the Governing Council of Achievers University, and are favourably compared with what are obtainable in other public and private universities.
