The pioneer set of Achievers University’s Law graduates at the Nigeria Law School in 2024 has set a brilliant academic record that reflects the robust academic foundation laid by the University’s College of Law. Out of the 40 pioneer Law graduates who attended the Nigerian Law School across various campuses in the country, three (3) of them – Gboroye Aderonke, Olatunde Temidayo and Akintola Olamide – bagged First Class honours. This feat places them among the top echelon of legal graduates in Nigeria.
In addition to the three (3) First Class achievers, eight (8) graduates were in the Second Class Upper Division, while fourteen (14) secured Second Class Lower Division. The others graduated with Third Class and Pass degrees. It is noteworthy that the three graduates who made First Class from the Nigerian Law School had also obtained First Class degrees from Achievers University. This consistency reinforces the University’s commitment to academic excellence and consistency in producing top-tier graduates.
In her effort not only to uphold consistent and improved academic performance but also to encourage further academic pursuit in the field, the University’s Pro-Chancellor, Hon. Dr. Bode Ayorinde had earlier announced a full scholarship offer for any of the Institution’s Law graduates who made First Class at the Nigerian Law School and wish to pursue postgraduate studies either at any public university in Nigeria or at Achievers University.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Omolola Irinoye, congratulated the graduates and commended the College of Law and her faculty for their dedication and mentorship that culminated in the remarkable feat. “This outstanding result signposts the fact that our Law programme is not only competitive but also one of the best in the country. We are proud of our students and grateful to our lecturers who guided them through this journey,” she stated.
The Dean of the College of Law, Professor Samson Joshua, expressed pride in the graduates’ achievements, describing them as trailblazers who have set a high standard for future students. “This is just the beginning. We are confident that our alumni will continue to excel and raise the flag of Achievers University high wherever they go,” the Dean said.
