ACHIEVERS UNIVERSITY OWO VACANCIES

Achievers University commenced academics activities on 2nd April 2008. In the past eleven years, the University as matriculated 12 sets of students and graduated 9 sets of Achievers who are doing very well in all spheres of human endeavors across the nation and oversees.  The University now fully operates at its permanent site a Kilometer 1 Idasen/Ute Road, Owo.
The University is steadily marching forward towards realizing the vision to be the best University in Africa and one of the best in the world trout e provision of enabling environment – physical and academic- for the production of competent and certifiable graduates who would be self-reliant, highly productive and globally relevant in succeeding generations.
As a result of completion of tenure of some Principal Officers, and the need to reposition the University in order to sustain the remarkable achievements, we are currently seeking for exceptionally and professionally qualified staff with outstanding integrity, and demonstrable leadership to join the highly motivated team in moving the university forward in her next phase of growth and development

Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive and academic head of the University. She is responsible to the Governing Council for the Management of human, financial and material resources of the University. It is the duty of the Vice-Chancellor to ensure that the provisions of the laws, statutes, and regulations of the University are observed and strictly adhere to.
The successful applicant will be a distinguished scholar with outstanding academic and administrative records. S/he must possess a Doctorate Degree and be a full Professor of not less than ten (10) years standing and must possess a proven and demonstrable ability to attract local and international research collaborations and developments for the University.

Registrar

The Registrar is the head of the University administration and is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the University. The Registrar is also Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, Convocation and Congregation.
An applicant for the position must possess a good University degree with a minimum of fifteen (15) years post-graduate experience, ten (10) of which must be within a University administrative Community. Postgraduate qualification in relevant fields and membership of relevant professional bodies will be added values.
The successful candidate will be required to give effective and professional leadership to the administrative body of the University. S/He must demonstrate knowledge and competence in human resource management and must possess the qualities of sound judgment, dependability, and unquestionable integrity.

Professor

Candidates must possess Ph.D. with at least ten (10) years post- qualification experience in teaching, research and post-graduate supervision, as well as a strong record of substantial publications in reputable international journals. In addition, candidates must have a good measure of academic leadership and a clear understanding of university governance.

Senior Lecturer

Same as for Readership, but with at least six (6) years post-qualification experience in teaching, research, and academic administration.

Lecturer I

Candidates must possess a Ph.D.. or Masters Degree plus evidence of at least four (4)  years post qualification experience in teaching, research and academic administration, and a good record of scholarly publications in reputable journals.

Lecturer II

Candidates must possess Ph.D or Masters Degree in relevant discipline plus scholarly publications in reputable journals.

Director, Information and Communication Technology

 The Director of ICT will lead the ICT planning and implementation process and set the overall strategic direction needed for an ICT-driven tertiary institution. The director must be a visionary leader and have the ability to provide good and exceptional leadership for the delivery of professional solutions, creativity and innovation.
Applicants for this post shall possess a good honours degree in Computer Science or related discipline from  a recognised University, and must have a minimum of ten (10) years post-qualification experience. Possession of a post-graduate degree, Membership of relevant professional bodies and experience of work within a University system will be added advantages.

Chief Security Officer

The Chief Security Officer shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor in the day-to-day performance of his duties to ensure security of life and property at the University, advise and alert management in security situations in the University, liaise with other Security Agencies in the State with a view to providing security for the University Community, and shall undertake all the assignments from the Vice Chancellor that will bring about adequate security for the University.
The applicant should possess a good first Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant discipline obtained from a recognized institution and a minimum of ten (10) years cognate experience. Experience in the service of the Nigerian Military, Police, Department of State Security Service and /or other allied security agencies will be an added advantage.

Manager, Female Hall of Residence

The University requires the service of matured personality who must be a practicing Christian with a demonstrable fear of God to manage the Female Hall of Residence. She must possess a minimum qualification of First Degree in any discipline and not less than 45years of age.
She would be responsible for the maintenance of the Hall of Residence, monitoring the movement of students, supervising the Porters, cleaners, security staff and other personnel in the Hall. Accountable to the Hall Supervisor and the Dean of Student Affairs, She is expected to play a role of locus parentis to the female students in the hall. 

Manager, Male Hall of Residence

Same as for the Female Hall of Residence, except that the Manager would be a man with similar qualifications and experience.
