Professor David Akinyiwola OPEYEMI is a distinguished Civil and Structural Engineer, academic, and researcher with over 30 years of experience in engineering practice and education. He holds a B.Eng in Civil Engineering, an M.Eng in Structural Engineering, and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Liverpool, UK. His expertise lies in stochastic and non-traditional uncertainty models in engineering, with a focus on reliability, risk analysis, and robust design to address environmental challenges. His collaborative research has led to grants, publications, and presentations across four continents, including Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America.
Beginning his professional journey as an Engineer-in-training with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, he advanced through various technical and managerial roles in reputable engineering firms. He transitioned to academia in 2005 at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic and later joined Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology in 2018, where he left as a Reader to Achievers University Owo. He has held several administrative positions and served as adjunct and visiting lecturer at multiple institutions. Prof. Opeyemi is a COREN-registered engineer and Fellow of both the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, among other national and international professional bodies. He has mentored numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students.
