A few tips that could help
We have received several complains from students, staff, parents and other stakeholders who usually receive notifications messages from the University's Bulk SMS service about recent inability to get messages sent by the University on their phones.
The reason for this is not far fetched. Recently telecoms companies were asked to ensure the activation of the DND (Do Not Disturb) feature for their subscribers due to complaints by subscribers of receiving promotional unsolicited messages through the networks. With this activation came the issue of not being able to receive genuine messages as well.
If you do not recieve SMS sent to you, please do the following:
For MTN Lines, text ALLOW to 2442.
For AIRTEL lines, text ALLOW to 2442.
For GLO lines, text CANCEL to 2442.
For 9Mobile/Etisalat lines, text START to 2442.
If you still can not receive messages, contact your network provider and complain to them that your line does not receive third party SMS.
It is very important to be in the know.
Keep your phone lines open to receive SMS notifications.
