As part of its commitment to research excellence and strong governance, Achievers University, Owo, hosted facilitators from the Nigeria Health Research Ethics Committee (NHREC) for a three-day University Staff Development Training titled “University Research Ethics Committee Training.”

The training, which held from Wednesday, 22nd to Friday, 24th October 2025, brought together 30 dedicated members of staff from various academic and administrative units involved in research oversight.
The organized by the Directorate of Research, Innovation, and Linkages to deepen ethical compliance and equip personnel with necessary skills to promote responsible research culture across the institution.
Participants gained knowledge and practical insights on:

✅ NHREC roles and operations in Nigeria
✅ Ethical issues in social science research
The training marks a significant step in enhancing Achievers University’s institutional capacity for ethical review, safeguarding human subjects, and aligning its research operations with national regulatory standards.
