The Governing Council of Achievers University, at its 40th meeting held on Thursday, 6th November, 2025, ratified and announced the appointment of Mr Sulaiman Adebayo Olagunju as the fourth Registrar of the University.
Mr. Olagunju’s appointment reflects the Council’s firm confidence in his ability to steer the Registry and oversee the administration of the University at a period of growth and transformation.
He joined Achievers University on 2nd May 2008 as Senior Assistant Registrar (Media)/Public Relations Officer shortly after the University commenced academic activities. Since then, he has held several key administrative positions, including Senior Assistant Registrar/College Secretary (College of Social and Management Sciences), Principal Assistant Registrar/Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, and in 2019, he moved to the main Registry. In October 2020, he was promoted to Deputy Registrar.
Prior to joining the University, Mr Olagunju had served in the Federal Civil Service (including teaching at the Air Force Secondary School, Ikeja) and in the media sector (Tell Communications Ltd, publishers of Tell magazine), where he rose to Head of Copy Desk.
Mr. Olagunju holds a Bachelor of Arts (Education) in Language Arts (English) of the University of Ilorin (1991); a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos (1993); and a Master of Science in Mass Communication (Public Relations) from the Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State (2013). He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
